Service for the holidays

When the author of “28 Hours Straight” approached his first sober holiday season, his life was a total mess. “I was barely hanging on by my tight-fisted white knuckles,” he writes.  Luckily, he went to his local alkathon and the members there put him to work setting out food and making coffee. He was hooked. For the next 22 years he’s pitched in and helped out. 

Holidays are a great time to reach out and help other alcoholics. Will you take part in sober holiday events? What does your group do? What was your first sober holiday like? Are you visiting family this year? Do you have any tips for newcomers? What are your plans to stay sober for New Years?
