I do what I can

Step twelve: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

I was not a happy camper when I walked back into the rooms again six years ago on Super Bowl Sunday. I was a homeless vet, a daily drinker. It took me almost two years before I was comfortable enough to let people back into my life. Even today I keep myself very guarded. For those two years, I did nothing to ensure my sobriety except to pad my ego with superficial junk and Step One, Step Two, repeat.
