Fresh off the out-of-control liquor train, he learned a valuable lesson: It’s not the caboose that flattens you

If you’re hit by a train, it ain’t the caboose that does the damage, it’s the engine.”

This expression first caught my ears during one of my earliest AA meetings. I can’t even remember who said it, but even in the fog that still enveloped my alcoholic brain, the words sure riveted my attention.
