My imperfect self

A minister gets sober in Texas and discovers that he’s been loved and taken care of all along

I got sober in Texas in 1973. I’m a Presbyterian minister, now retired. I’ve just celebrated my 43rd sobriety birthday and I’m 81 years old.

Along with being an alcoholic, I have also been a liar and a thief. I have struggled with sexuality, overeating, procrastination and lust. As if all that weren’t enough, I suffer from depression, I limp and ache with arthritis and I entertain fear as an honored friend. And I am a child of God.
