In silent wonderment

He hoped his anniversary would pass by unnoticed, but he was in for a surprise

At age 85, and after 48 years in AA, I still ask myself: Should I go to meetings? Dumb question.

Thankfully, my friends keep calling and asking me if I want a ride to a meeting. It’s hard to say no. Some days multiple telephone invitations come for morning and evening meetings. So I made a rule: only one meeting a day. Even at one meeting a day, I still sometimes do not feel up to the effort. And yet, I can’t help but feel grateful, to the point of being overwhelmed by all the unsolicited support coming my way.
