Unhappy memorial day

After a bellyfull of beer, a sober Vietnam vet’s celebration takes a very nasty turn

My feet were firmly planted on the roof of my house, drunk after more than eight years of continuous sobriety. I ended up in the back of a squad car twice in one day. When I got released from custody, my belongings were returned to me, including my eight-year token.
