The meeting goes on

During a record-setting blizzard, a home group finds a warm, safe way to gather

I hate to miss my Saturday morning meeting. It’s my home group and I’ve been attending it for the last 15 years. I never miss this meeting unless I am deathly ill or if there’s a major, dangerous storm going on.

One time a blizzard started at about 10:00 the night before our meeting, and by the time I woke up there was already a few inches of the white stuff on the ground. The wind was so strong it was blowing the snow horizontally. The predictions that morning were for an unprecedented couple of feet of snow over the next few hours. The weather people were telling everyone to stay indoors where it was safe. The roads were already slippery and dangerous. So no meeting for me that day.
