He tried all the tools he could think of to end a huge resentmemt toward his wife—except one

I don’t consider myself an angry guy. I certainly have my moments, but I generally don’t hold on to grudges or nurse resentments. I get mad, but when I do it usually doesn’t last very long.

Then Gwen, my wife, screwed up. She did something wrong, some offense that I no longer remember (nor does she). I was mad and a little hurt, but I didn’t let it pass. I mostly got quiet and didn’t talk to her, my best friend and roommate, for a couple of days—and I stayed mad.
