More hope than I know what to do with

A young man turns his life around in prison and even becomes his AA group’s GSR

Growing up, my friends and I loved to party and drink beer. Before social media, it seemed like everyone knew to call me for directions to the next party. Drinking took precedence over everything important in my life. Alcohol seemed to alleviate my self-conscious fears. Alcohol became the only way I knew how to be myself.

As a teenager, when my close friend died drinking and driving, alcohol was there to numb the pain.
