One Won’t Hurt

An outing with old friends, a nice restaurant and a delicious martini. What could possibly go wrong?

I was away from home, engaged in a hobby that I’d enjoyed for many years. I was with old friends and we had spent the day at the rifle range competing for little brass plaques to hang on our “bragging wall.”

The day at the range was over and now it was time to relax. There I was, sober, happy and enjoying the fellowship that comes when old friends get together in a nice restaurant for dinner. At this time, I had been sober for about six months. I was a recovering alcoholic still filled with that glow that comes after 28 days in a treatment center.
