Danger for the Unborn

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a division of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, is issuing a warning [several weeks after Dr. Noble's statement] to pregnant women and women of childbearing age that two drinks of hard liquor a day could cause fetal defects. The Federal warning is being issued through the Food and Drag Administration and circulated nationally in the weekly bulletin of the Communicable Disease Center in Atlanta.
