Two out of every three Americans, a national survey reveals, know someone who drinks too much, and increasingly that someone is a woman. In the past 25 years, the number of women drinkers has increased twice as much as the number of men drinkers. And while there are still more men who drink than women (in 1974 the ratio was 76% to 61%), women are catching up--and fast.
