MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN--A surprisingly high rate of alcohol consumption and impairment was found among 71 women alcoholics investigated for psychiatric disorders by researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. James Halikas said in the report: "Remarkably, 86% of these women reported drinking 12 oz. or more of liquor or its equivalent amount in wine or beer per occasion." Daily drinking was...
