Don't Make Waves

I believe that the main problem of alcohol abuse is its social disruptiveness and not the disease it causes, that much of the social disruptiveness is caused by binge drinkers whose overall consumption is relatively low, and that many people use enough alcohol to make themselves ill without being socially disruptive. Thus, a conception of alcohol abuse based on overall use and its relation to liver disease is probably inappropriate.
