The Omnibus Reconciliation Act (Title IX, Section 931) has amended the Medicare provisions of the Social Security Act to provide for reimbursement for nonhospital alcohol detoxification facility services--the first major legislative recognition of nonhospital alcoholism services since enactment of Medicare.
