A vacation romance with a chronic relapser takes him out of his comfort zone

"What the hell was happening? Surely this love thing was something that couldn’t happen to me."

Every year since I’ve been two years sober I have managed to travel and spend my two-week holiday and AA anniversary (which happen to occur simultaneously) in a foreign country.

This has taken me to Rome, Madrid, Gran Canaria, Sicily and India. I have gone to these places and not found the need to drink and really enjoyed them immensely. It also reaffirms to me that I can do anything if I don’t drink.
