A group of 25 national organizations petitioned the Federal Trade Commission to tighten regulation of alcoholic beverage advertising and asked "for a total ban of ads aimed at youths and problem drinkers."

One example given is Budweiser Light television advertisements featuring prominent athletes and broadcast during rock concerts and other programming directed to teenagers. The...
