Extend the hand of AA or your sobriety will self-destruct in three seconds

I’ve been hearing the Responsibility Pledge recited lately at some of the meetings I attend. Its official name is the Responsibility Declaration, written by Al S., a Grapevine editor and trustee, and introduced in 1965 at the 30th International Convention in Toronto. What did we ever do before internet search engines?
It got me to thinking: Exactly how do I extend the hand of AA? I know it’s not something my home group can do; it’s something I have to do myself.
