June 2011: Editor's Letter

How often do you attend meetings while on the road?

The experiences relayed by members in this month’s special issue theme “AA on the Road” share some of the great discoveries they have made about AA and their program while journeying. In “No Grappa for You!” a woman cycling through Northern Italy finds support for her recovery in the most unusual places. A member traveling for work shares his tips for staying sane and successful in “A Sober Salesman.” And in “Paradise Lost” an AA finds solace in a tropical locale.

Other stories share similar accounts of finding support and recovery, from “Lights Out” where a member shows how healing can happen, even in the dark, to “An Unencumbered Man,” where a man finds that AA has ruined his isolation along with his drinking.
