At seven months, a newcomer deals with trust issues

For about a year my bachelor son and I used to enjoy getting together each Wednesday evening at his apartment for what he called a “guy’s night of just hanging out.” At the time I was playing a dangerous and secretive game with alcohol, but like many other alcoholics, I managed to keep it a secret for the most part.
