The Year Ahead

With this issue, the Grapevine lends its voice to the magnificent chorus that will join to celebrate fifty years of Canadian AA in Toronto on the weekend of July 4. This issue also puts the Grapevine exactly one year away from celebrating our own fiftieth anniversary in June of 1994. That will mark exactly 600 consecutive issues, with untold millions of individual copies scattered around the world. And that doesn't even begin to take into account the number of readers who have gotten a copy from a friend, read it, and passed it on to another. Currently with subscribers in over seventy countries, the Grapevine is also the model for more than thirty other AA magazines published around the world in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, and Swedish. With such a track record, one might think we could rest on our laurels.
