Mary Lou S., a native Alaskan, has been sober in Alcoholics Anonymous for twenty-seven years. She got sober originally in Anchorage and now lives in the state's capital, Juneau, working at a local treatment center with adolescents struggling with alcohol and drugs. Mary Lou, a poet and screenwriter, is also involved in the arts community in the state. She was interviewed via telephone by Kirk W., a member of the Grapevine's Editorial Advisory Board.
