A Vital And Living History

Amy Filiatreau joined the General Service Office as the AA archivist in February 2006. She serves as the custodian of more than 750,000 documents dating from AA's infancy to the present. Filiatreau received a B.A. in anthropology and archaeology from the University of Chicago and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Texas at Austin. She is certified by the Academy of Certified Archivists.

In a presentation you gave at the General Service Conference, you said that few organizations value their history and archives the way AA does. Why do you think the history is, as you put it, "vital and living" in AA?
