A good many leaders tell us that there is a pattern which fits us all. Some of them are from Skid Row. . .some have made at least three of the best penitentiaries. . .still another type devoured five fifths a day in his heyday. I tried doubles one night and got knocked clear out of the ring. That convinced me that I was a pantywaist drinker so I crawled quietly and sheepishly back to AA. I was rewarded by hearing a speaker who didn't "qualify as an alcoholic." He even violated what I had come to believe was a tradition. He didn't tell a funny story; he didn't boast of his capacity. He simply exorted us to be good. Just as simple as that and I want to say again. . .thanks a million.
