From the May 1989 magazine.

PO Box 1980

No outsiders!

I was happy with your January 1989 issue, as I am for the most part with all your issues, until I got to the "Quote of the Month" by Aldous Huxley, which I found, however true, to be offensive.

Why is it that I don't mind ideas like this quote in "my" monthly magazine when promulgated by my fellow alcoholics, but when some "outsider" is set up on a pedestal I take umbrage? I guess it is for the very reason that I feel the contents of the Grapevine should be for us, about us, and by us, Otherwise, put it in the "About Alcoholism" section. If Aldous Huxley was an alcoholic, we should be apprised of that. Otherwise, we can read about him in The Reader's Digest
