Perhaps Only a Woman Can Understand

As wives of AA members, we are, you might say, "the helpers of the helpers." This is our role and we gladly accept it. Like our husbands, we feel we have grown in mind and spirit through contact with AA, and as we share with them the blessings it has brought, we find that we too have been touched by a new humility.

We know through AA teachings that alcoholism is a disease which we have escaped through no special virtue of our own. With this in mind, and with a deep desire to help others toward this new way of life, our attention and concern is turned to those we can aid in our own group, especially the woman alcoholic.
