I Couldn't Put My Finger on It

The self I have to live with. . . .

I LIKE to relate my experiences in AA as having made a great discovery.

I have always felt that besides my body and mind, there was something else to my being that I just couldn't put my finger on. Like a dual personality or another person inside of me. I have discovered what it is. It is what religion calls the soul and what the field of psychiatry calls the personality. The only connection I ever understood between the "soul" and me, was that it was the bottom of my shoe. Personality was something that I had always been able to turn on and off at will, and it would either make people like or dislike me.
