Alcoholism Gets Worldwide Recognition

IN recent months the medical profession has taken two great strides in the recognition of alcoholism as a disease and a public health problem.

Meeting in Cleveland in December, the American Medical Association accepted for the first time, the problems of alcoholism as a responsibility. A few days after the decision of the American Medical Association the United Nations World Health Organization, meeting in Geneva Switzerland, took similar steps toward the prevention and treatment of this public health problem.
