So they want to change the AA "Big Book." Good. I can go along with that. There are a great many things I would like to change in the Big Book. It is a little too blunt and bold and some of the things it says are a little hard to take. They should be coated a little bit, not to alter their truth in any way, but just to make them a little easier to swallow. A fellow hates to be told in such bare-faced language a truth about himself he doesn't like to admit. That phrase for instance, "After all, our problems were of our own making," gave me a lot of trouble. Surely I can find someone to blame all my troubles on, for it could not have been all my fault.
