6 Ways to Relieve Self-pity

IN THIS LIFE OF OURS I suppose everyone at certain times is misunderstood, unappreciated and perhaps even sometimes unjustly treated. I, however, thought all these things had happened to me and I was nursing all the hurts in the world. I was just spilling over with self-pity.

I was on my way to do the only thing I thought advisable, get more liquor. As I was passing the home of my brother, he dragged me in, put me to bed and called the doctor. The doctor caring for me in my last illness informed me that he could fix me up physically but he could not cure my drinking. He advised me to contact AA. That was the first time a sensible thing had been said to me relative to my drinking.
