Sober Resolutions Are Different

HOW MANY WELL INTENTIONED MEN AND WOMEN will "swear off" for 1957? "Never again," they say, hand upraised, in all sincerity. Some few may make it stick. Others will fall by the wayside; some even as early as New Year's afternoon, or even New Year's morning--if they need some of the "hair of the dog."

Fortunate are we who need make no such resolution to climb on the wagon. To us, New Year's Day--at least so far as alcohol is concerned--is just another twenty-four hours; and we should never lose sight of that day-to-day progress, even after years of sobriety.
