Two Tigers on My Back

I CAME to AA with two tigers on my back. I was hopelessly addicted to alcohol and I needed up to eighteen grains a day of nem-butal or seconal to supplement my alcoholic diet. Needless to say this combination had forced me to enter numerous drying-out parlours, sanitaria and mental institutions. Having found it impossible to stay free of alcohol and drugs for even one day when outside of a hospital, I approached my first meeting without reservations as to what I would or would not do to get sober and stay sober.
