What Is This Thing, Maturity?

an AA member explores the many facets of this much used but little understood word

MOST of us learn early in the game that emotional immaturity is a bugaboo that breeds countless chronic defects of character in us. We become alert to our weaknesses and make our small beginnings in self discipline. These defects are like little incurable cancers, whose continued existence means that we shall always be alcoholics, sobriety notwithstanding.
