100 Men and a Woman

The one woman member, in a town of 45,000, had her own set of difficulties--at first

I AM a "loner" in a way--the only woman member in my large and active AA group. Tonight, I came home from an open meeting thinking about following the suggestion of another woman alcoholic, who was a visitor from another state, where they have nearly as many AA women as men. Until tonight, I hadn't realized that my early life in AA might be unique.

She suggested that I write my early experiences. The knowledge that I weathered it and am still around, might be of help to another woman, who is now floundering along that same lonely road.
