There's a lot of growing up to be done

I CAN'T CLAIM to be fond of my many and varied "growing pains" since I began my AA life, but the results--the little steps achieved in growing up--are the most cherished things in my life today.

Early in my AA career, I had the chance to become "a part of. . .," to be in, rather than on, the program. I became coffee-maker for my original group and thrived on the experience, my first venture into our Third Legacy--Service. At this period, perhaps, I first began to sense that the receiving is in the giving!
