SOME YEARS ago, in our local central office of Alcoholics Anonymous, there sat a supreme judge and high potentate of all lowly AA members who were unfortunate enough to be within this office's jurisdiction. Ashamedly, I must admit this superior magistrate was I! Bouncing around on my springy, revolving desk chair, handing down unalterable decisions on the quantity and quality of any twelfth-stepper's sobriety, I was a one-person Supreme Court!
