CHRISTMAS WAS coming, and I had defiantly announced to everyone who would listen that I was bravely prepared to go into my annual depression. No, I wouldn't drink over being without my children at Christmas. I would just suffer. Gallantly.

Living in Norway is usually wonderful, particularly now that we have a thriving, growing bilingual AA group. But Christmas seems to be my low point.
