We Three

The thought of not taking that first drink in the morning was a most frightening idea. But finally I had reached the point where I couldn't drink another day. Alcohol was bringing me more pain than it was taking away. I fell back in bed that memorable morning, willing to go through the withdrawal from alcohol rather than walk to the liquor store and ask for another bottle on credit. I truly didn't believe not drinking would improve my life, it just seemed easier to stay in bed.
