A Real Meeting
One evening, I was visiting my friend Keith T. in a hospital. He had gotten so that he could barely speak from his disabling and crippling disease. I realized he was trying to say something, and as I put my ear next to his mouth, he whispered, "I'm scared." I didn't know what to say because he was a long-standing member of AA, and over the years had helped me and many others in dealing with various fears. He began to cry. As I wiped his tears, because he was unable to use his own arms, I also began to cry.
