This Sober Newspaper Writer Ended Up In Jail After An Ill-fated Encounter With Pain Pills.

I never thought I'd have to rebuild my career a second time at the age of thirty-nine, but I am thankful to be clean and sober, and have a fighting chance to do just that.

During the late seventies and early eighties, I was a promising young writer who worked for a daily newspaper. I created the paper's first entertainment section. My beat also kept me in the nightclubs and concerts five to six nights a week.
