Twice Blessed

The first time I had it made. I had a good job again, I was speaking at meetings, doing institutional work, and speaking at conventions. I had my own home and a nice car. I was writing articles for the Grapevine. I was newly married to a woman who knew I didn't drink but wasn't really clear on the why of it. She'd never been to a meeting with me because I'd been thinking, "It's a new life, a new era. Let's start something new here. Maybe I'm not an alcoholic. I've got twelve-and-a-half years of sobriety. I don't need those meetings anymore."
