The fun is in giving freely of yourself

When I joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1986, I knew the program worked. I'd met several AAs in my community whom I respected and admired, and each of them had been sober for many years. There was the friendly fellow who owned the gas station on the corner, the chap who operated my local ice-cream stand, and the old-timer who had enrolled me in a music program when I was young.
