Texas on My Mind

Just this past year I was "forced" to go to Texas. Texas was never a place that I wanted to visit. But at eleven plus years sober I was presented with an opportunity to make a lot of money if I would just be willing to spend four to eight months in Dallas.

The offer was too good to turn down. Not only was the money good, but they said that I could go back home to Los Angeles every weekend. That closed the deal: I'd be able to spend every weekend with my bride of thirty-four years (the same who had stuck with me through my drinking), and I'd be able to maintain weekly contact with my sponsor and home group.
