When You're On the Outside Looking In

I'm a Maliseet Indian from Oromocto, New Brunswick, and I've been sober for nine and a half years. My life is pretty good today. I have friends in Alcoholics Anonymous. I was a loner when I was younger and I was looking for acceptance in people, and I didn't find that outside, but I found it in AA. I didn't find it right away. It took time. At first, I still felt like I was a little bit different.
