A Mother's Metamorphosis

Last week I celebrated ten years of sobriety and I saw my daughter graduate from high school. Quite an emotional time. My gratitude was overwhelming, and when I wept openly (and often) during the week, my co-workers thought my tears were from sadness. They didn't know what my fellow AA members knew--that these were tears of joy. I was celebrating the years, the sober years, in which I grew with my daughter.
