The Tremendous Fact

Recently, my willingness to practice our principles was put to the test as I went down the job-hunting trail. The experience made me review Step Twelve. I remembered how unwilling I was to deal with the Steps at the beginning of my new way of life in Alcoholics Anonymous, how I'd fallen into the "two-stepping" illusion, as it is called in Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, and imagined I could get by on parts of the First and the Twelfth.
