Out Of Isolation
When I stopped drinking on a Saturday in 1983, I couldn't stop stuttering or finish sentences. I was angry, confused, and lost. My closest ally, alcohol, had betrayed me. Alcohol was my solution. If I had a problem, I drank while I solved it. If I wanted some relief from work problems, I drank at lunch and complained and moaned about the clients and my boss. I lost several terrific opportunities by leaving situations that, to me, seemed hopeless. Greener pastures were always my attraction: in work, relationships, friends, and life. "Them, there, or those" would fix it.
