Senile Sobriety

If you've been around a while and think you're having dull times, read this

"I DON'T seem to get much out of the Fellowship any more. Oh, I still go to a meeting now and then. After all, the Fellowship helped me when I needed it, and the least I can do is attend once in a while." The old-timer who said that is at least a cut above the fellow who doesn't do anything at all. He still has a smidgen of gratitude. Expression of it through attending an occasional meeting, sitting like a bump on a log and chatting briefly with several old cronies who are present, would seem to indicate just how small a remnant of gratitude there may be. Without knowing it, this AA member is suffering from a disease which I like to call senile sobriety.
