Friendly Yet Different

Sixth Tradition - An AA group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the AA name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.

How can we help alcoholics stay sober in the age of multi-addiction? I've come to believe that cooperation but not affiliation between AA and such organizations as Cocaine Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous can help alcoholics stay away from that first drink--and live. AA's policy of cooperation but not affiliation with churches, prisons, other fellowships, medical societies, treatment centers, hospitals, and so forth may be found in the long form of our Sixth Tradition (the long forms of the Traditions are given at the end of the Big Book or the "Twelve and Twelve").
