Now that I've joined a group and gotten a sponsor, I know that AA has no fees or dues to pay. Yet money is needed for the effective functioning and well-being of AA, while the AA message is just as free of charge for all of us today as it was back in 1935, when two drunks realized that they could stay sober simply by helping one another.
